Brief History:
Life Church Lincoln was originally launched under the leadership of William Prentice in February 1997, as a church plant from New Life Christian Fellowship Lincoln (Now named Alive Church).
The first meeting was held at Leslie Manser Junior School Birchwood with an attendance of 19 people.
Under Williams’s inspirational leadership Life Church has now grown to 120 plus with a significant influence in the area.

Sadly, after battling with a cancer for a number of months William passed away and went to be with the Lord in the early hours of Thursday, March 6th 2014.
On Friday 21st March 2014 there was a thanksgiving service celebrating the life of William at Alive Church in Lincoln.
It was a wonderful testimony to William’s Christ centred life, to see so many who had even travelled the length of the country to be at the service. Hundreds of people attended, all with stories of how God had used William to speak into their lives, resulting in them feeling the call to serve God to a deeper level.

After also suffering from cancer, Alison Prentice, William’s wife, Life Church’s Community Pastor and member of the Church’s Core Leadership Team, passed away on the 2nd of March 2016. A celebration Service for Alison was held at Alive Church Lincoln with a packed congregation hearing glowing tributes from family, and friends. The large number of people who attended demonstrated the impact this remarkable woman’s life has had on a countless number of people’s lives. Her influence in the local community on behalf of the Christian faith will be remembered for generations to come.

At present Life Church is thriving under the leadership of its Core Leadership Team and has recently purchased its own church building, (The former Birchwood Methodist Church). All Life Church Sunday services are held in the building along with a number of community centred activities throughout the week.
