An Invitation To A Celebration

You are Invited to the opening of Life Church Lincoln’s new church! The former Birchwood Methodist Church) 127 Birchwood Avenue Lincoln LN6 0JE
2.00pm – 3.30pm Saturday 11th April 2015

The afternoon will consist of a church service celebrating the acquisition of the building. The service will be attended by the Mayor and Sheriff of Lincoln and a number of other guests. The event will be followed by a light buffet. During the celebration service, Methodist Minister Rev Christine Jewitt will officially hand over the keys of the building to mark a new chapter in its history

A brief history of Life Church Lincoln.

Life Church Lincoln was originally launched on 9th February 1997, as a church plant from New Life Christian Fellowship, Lincoln (now named Alive Church). Planted into the Birchwood estate area of Lincoln, the church has now grown to over 100 with a strong community focus. With the aim of transforming lives transforming communities. the church has over the years made a significant impact on the local area. Life Church is part of the Ground Level Network of Churches and has continued to have strong connections with its mother church, Alive Church Lincoln.

The Building

Right at the beginning of construction of the Birchwood estate, local Methodists had it in their hearts to build a Church at its centre. Finally, in 1964, building began. An opening ceremony marking the completion of the building took place in September 1966.
