Healing Service Sunday 2nd November 2008 - Barry Woodward

. Barry Woodward will speak on Healing at Life Church on Sunday 2nd of November.

Barry Woodward grew up in a great, but non-Christian home in Salford, Greater Manchester. At 16 he left school with no qualifications and was drawn into the Manchester drugs scene, taking cannabis, amphetamine and LSD. This led to a life of heroin addiction and drug dealing.

After being dependent on heroin for fourteen years and spending a number of terms in prison, Barry had what he describes as ‘an encounter with God’, which resulted in his life being totally transformed. This was then followed by being called by God to be an evangelist. Since then he has worked with a number of evangelistic organizations and studied full time at Cliff Bible College, where he was awarded a Diploma in Biblical Studies and Evangelistic Ministry from Sheffield University.

Barry is a contemporary evangelist who has a passion for God and His church. He is committed to the relevant communication of the Christian faith.

Barry is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God denomination in the UK and an associate evangelist with J.John of the Philo Trust. He is also the author of ‘Once an Addict’. He and his wife Tina are members of The Bridge Church, and they live in Greater Manchester.

Diamond Park Bangers and Burgers

On Saturday 31st May 2008, Life Church Lincoln held another annual “Bangers and Burgers” event for the Birchwood community. Held at Diamond Park, the weather was fantastic and the park was full of children and parents enjoying the free food and activities.

Even the Lincolnshire Sheriiff and Mayor of Lincoln attended…

Dudely - 27th May 2008

 If you have watched the God Channel recently you will have seen the Revival that is taking place at Lakeland, Florida USA. with Todd Bentley from Fresh Fire Ministries.

This Revival is spreading worlwide and has even reached us here in the UK!

On Tuesday 27th May, 13 members of the church (including Pastor William Prentice) drove the 2 hour journey to Dudley. There we enjoyed a meal together before attending the evening meeting at the “Dudley Outporing” - @ the Revival Fires, Apostolic Resource Centre in Dudley.

It was a real time of outpouring from God with the Holy Spririt present form the start of the worship time through the healings, word and those who came foward to receive new life!

Our prayer is that this very same outpouring of God would impact Lincoln too…

Joint Meeting Wed 21st May

On Wednesday 21st May 2008 ALL midweek Life Groups will be meeting together at City School for a joint evening - Start time is 19:30 HRS

The speakers will be Paul Milligan and Duane White, who are over in the UK for a few weeks speaking on the topic of “Wealth Creation for the Kingdom.”

They have agreed to come and share some of the material with us on this night.

If you want to hear them speak further on this important topic you can attend the live event on Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th May 2008 @ New Life Lincoln 01522 542166 - There will be an audio CD of the conference available for purchase after the event.

What Is OASIS?

OASIS is a ”Luncheon Club” for the over 50’s

The Oasis Luncheon Club meets in the Birchwood Methodist Church Hall, on Birchwood Avenue, where you can meet lots of friendly people, all over a light lunch and drinks.

They meet every Tuesday 12 - 2pm.

If you are over 50 please feel free to join them for great friendship over “soup and a sandwich”, served by a dedicated group of volunteers.

What Is Diamond Park?

Life Church Lincoln owns and operates, with members from the local area, a community park with a children’s playground plus areas of relaxation.

Since the opening of Diamond Park, Life Church has provided at least 2 free community events a year (including food and entertainment) but often it has been as many as 5 events!

In the last few years many hundreds of local residents have enjoyed relaxing in the park, eating and being entertained by bands or a wide range of other attractions.

The park is on Staverton Crescent in the heart of Birchwood.

What Is Alpha?

The world famous Alpha Course is a 10 week course, run on a regular basis, offering people the opportunity to explore “the meaning of life” and the role Christianity plays in providing the answer.

The session is run midweek, when a meal is provided followed by a talk on the nights topic followed by an opportunity to discuss the evenings session over a cup of tea or coffee.

The Alpha course – is currently run by Life Church Lincoln twice a year (Spring and Autumn)
